Injection molding

Injection molding

Artekno also manufactures and designs technical plastic products using injection molding. The injection molding method is well suited for cost-effective mass production of large quantities.

In spring 2026, the Kangasala factory will be expanded with large, state-of-the-art machines with a clamping force of 750 tons and 1,600 tons. The Realplast Oy factory in Riihimäki, which belongs to the Artekno Group, manufactures smaller but highly technical plastic products. Realplast has over 25 years of experience in demanding plastic parts and their assembly. The factory also manufactures 2- and 3-component products using

injection molding. We supply our customers with injection-molded parts, either surface-treated and assembled or as-is, according to the customer’s needs. The injection molding method is well suited for large-volume series production. Typically, the injection molding method is also well suited to many raw materials, so the technical properties of the products can be refined to perfection with the right choice of raw materials. When combined with other Arteknon manufacturing methods, the production of the end product can be optimized to the best possible extent in accordance with the product’s sales and structure.

Multi-component products, 3D design, and versatile material expertise

Our multi-component molding machines enable us to manufacture demanding products that combine different materials. Our equipment enables both 2- and 3-component injection molding. Our services also include assisting the customer from the very beginning of the product development process, if necessary. We utilize our solid expertise in product development as extensively as possible for the benefit of the customer.

The plastics we use include

  • PC (polycarbonate)
  • PC+GF (glass fiber reinforced polycarbonate)
  • ABS (acrylonitrile butadiene styrene)
  • PC/ABS (polycarbonate-acrylonitrile butadiene styrene blend)
  • PA (polyamide)
  • PA6 (polyamide 6)
  • PA66 (polyamide 66)
  • PA+GF (glass fiber reinforced polyamide)
  • PSU (polysulfone)
  • TPV (thermoplastic vulcanized elastomer)
  • TPE (thermoplastic elastomer)
  • POM (polyoxymethylene, also known as acetal plastic)

We use glass fiber, for example, to reinforce plastics, which improves the strength and durability of the products. We also manufacture reinforced plastics and various plastic compounds. The materials can be colored according to the customer’s wishes, so that they match the company’s visual identity or the specific requirements of the application.
