Injection moulding for small and large components

We supply customers with injection moulded plastic components either as finished, surface-treated and assembled products or as individual parts according to customer requirements. Injection moulding is an efficient manufacturing method especially suited for high-volume serial production.

In summer 2026, Artekno’s Kangasala factory will expand with two state-of-the-art injection moulding machines featuring 750-ton and 1600-ton clamping force capacities. Injection moulding is suitable for a wide range of raw materials, allowing the technical properties of each product to be optimized through the right material selections. Combined with Artekno’s other manufacturing technologies, the production process can always be optimized according to product structure, volumes and end-use requirements.

2K and 3K injection moulding for demanding products

Artekno manufactures injection moulded plastic components ranging from precision parts weighing less than one gram to technical components weighing up to 10 kilograms. Our production combines extensive material expertise, modern automation and decades of experience in manufacturing demanding plastic components.

Smaller and highly technical plastic products are manufactured at Realplast Oy in Riihimäki, part of the Artekno Group. With more than 25 years of experience in technical plastic components, assemblies and demanding customer projects, Realplast delivers high quality and reliable deliveries. Realplast also specializes in 2-component and 3-component injection moulded products, where multiple materials or functionalities are combined into a single component.

Thanks to our strong automation expertise, product handling, assembly and packaging can be carried out efficiently using robotics. This ensures consistent quality, competitive cost efficiency and reliable production for both precision components and larger technical plastic products.

3D design and extensive material expertise

Our services also include supporting customers from the early stages of product development when needed. We assist customers in selecting the right materials even for the most demanding applications by utilizing our extensive experience together with the expertise of our material suppliers.

Our 3D scanning services support both quality assurance and dimensional verification of customer products.

Assembly and surface treatment as part of a complete in-house solution

One of Artekno’s key strengths is the ability to deliver injection moulded plastic components ready for use or further assembly. Our assembly services and automated post-processing operations improve production efficiency, reduce supply chain stages and enhance final product quality.

We can install metal threaded inserts, electronic components, seals and other customer-specific parts into products. Post-installation of metal inserts can be performed fully automatically using robot-controlled induction equipment, ensuring consistent quality and high production efficiency.

When required, products can be finished using our own painting and surface treatment lines. We offer technical painting, custom colour finishes and specialized coatings tailored to application requirements, including UV-protected, EMC and EMI shielding, and wear-resistant coatings. For example, EMC shielding coatings can provide protection against electromagnetic interference without the need for metal structures.

By carrying out assembly, painting and surface treatment under one roof, unnecessary transportation is avoided, lead times are shortened and supply chain efficiency is improved. This allows our customers to receive finished, high-quality products from one reliable partner.

We use glass fiber, for example, to reinforce plastics, which improves the strength and durability of the products. We also manufacture reinforced plastics and various plastic compounds. The materials can be colored according to the customer’s wishes, so that they match the company’s visual identity or the specific requirements of the application.
